Erik Bauer MD
Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Erik Bauer graduated from Harvard University magna cum laude before enrolling at the University of Michigan Medical School in 1996, where he finished first in his class. He went on to surgical internship and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at WashingtonUniversity in St. Louis, Missouri, where he met Dr. Brian Herrmann and succeeded him in the Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. This fellowship prepared Dr. Bauer to recognize and treat a full range of pathologies including pediatric hearing loss and cochlear implantation, chronic ear disease, congenital and acquired airway problems, foreign bodies, neck masses and sinus disease. Dr. Bauer has lectured at local and national meetings as well as maintaining his clinical practice.
Dr. Bauer joined Pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat of Atlanta in September 2006. He enjoys treating a wide range of pediatric otolaryngology problems, and is excited to bring his experience in cochlear implantation to our community.
Dr. Bauer is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, having received his board certification in June 2006, and a fellow of the AmericanAcademy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Bauer is married with two children. When not singing nursery rhymes or attempting to unravel the mysteries of potty training, he enjoys travel, music, and dining.
