Meet Paula Harmon, M.D.
After completing her Doctor of Medicine degree, with honors, at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Dr. Harmon continued her training at the University of North Carolinas Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She then completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham before returning to Atlanta as an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Harmon joined PENTA in August, 2015 and focuses her efforts serving all children throughout Atlanta.
A strong advocate for children with hearing loss, Dr. Paula Harmon works diligently with the Georgia General Assembly as a supporter of hearing loss coverage in Georgia when not involved in her clinical practice. As a member of PENTA’s comprehensive Cochlear Implant Team, Dr. Harmon is committed to providing top tier pediatric ENT care in Atlanta and personally has a goal to help give the gift of sound to all children.
In addition to her responsibilities in clinical care and research, Dr. Harmon is mother to three children who keep her busy with school, softball, and basketball. She has also traveled extensively around the world on various medical missions in Nicaragua, Cuba and Africa. “When you arrive in a third world country and more than three hundred people are waiting in line for an ENT surgeon, you know you have made the right decision in your career choice,” Harmon states modestly.
In joining PENTA Harmon recognizes another important choice she has made:
“I am privileged to become a member of this incredible team of physicians, nurses and audiologists.”
